Janice Pinkston Wins First Place at Fair.png

Belvedere watercolorist takes first at county fair

"Watercolorist Jan Pinkston was scrolling through results from the Marin County Fair’s competitive exhibits, marveling over the entries from her peers at the painter’s collective she attends.

When she saw her own name on the list, she was ecstatic and excited, she says.

Pinkston, a Belvedere resident since 1987, took home first place at the fair, held July 3-7, for her “No. 129 Black Olive” watercolor in the “Barnyard Buddies” category, part of the wider fine-art and fine-craft division."

“Pink Passion” and “Max”
accepted
at the Marin County Fair Fine Art Exhibit

I am thrilled and deeply honored to have two watercolors hanging in the Fine Art Exhibit of the 2023 Marin County Fair. Through my paintings I hope to bring a ah-ha moment to Fair visitors, a moment to get lost inside the curly petals of “Pink Passion,” and to bring a smile at the sweetness of “Max.”
